Pretend 3.0 never happened. Anno, destroy all copies and any ignore references to anything that happened in it. DO IT OVER... do it completely over. It never happened.

From our PoV, WE can see that he would have been perfectly willing to cooperate with WILLE if they hadn't been so hostile towards him, but do *they* see that? If they view him as "the selfish bastard who would wreck our world to get what he wants", they may have thought that he wouldn't cooperate with them even if they tried; The old NERV personal might have viewed him causing TI as an act of betrayal and didn't see earning/ensuing his loyalty as a possibility. In their position, they (save for Mari) just don't see him as a confused kid, which is undoubtedly what he is.

Maybe Wille just doesn't believe him when he says he doesn't remember causing third impact. Think about it; he remembers trying to save Rei and everything else, but not THAT? I believe he's telling the truth when he says that, but I can see why they wouldn't.

If he hadn't piloted Eva 13, I think Wille would have left him to his own devices. They don't bother to pursue Mark 9, and they only take action AGAINST him once Eva 13 activates.

Which is another huge problem, they know he can be used as a trigger, but WILLE apparently waits until he's inside the EVA to make a move. Shinji/NERV was sitting quite defenceless playing piano. WILLE even managed to get into Terminal Dogma undetected apparently (by EVA13 at least), and with extreme speed. They had to be close by.

It's all got to be a big ruse, there's no way it can be this filled with plot holes and dumb characters.

Evangelion has a lot of faith in it. So inevitably fans, especially old fans, will fill in the blanks, and the entire movie is a blank.

It's extreme gap-moe.

Moreover, people who like it will fish stuff out of their ass to defend the movie as not being a blank. People who don't like it will force themself to look into said movie in order to be able to properly shit all over it.

Asuka protests against having to live with Shinji, but Misato says it's an order. She complains that Shinji will try something like kissing her in her sleep.

Shenanigans.

At the end of the day, Asuka complains about Shinji, but her doll suggests that she had a lot of peppiness that day thanks to him. Her doll goes on to say that Shinji is cute, a skilled cook, and overall an ok guy. Asuka admits that his hamburger was good. Then her doll gets ahead of herself a bit and decides that Asuka will become Shinji's wife.

Meanwhile, Shinji abuses himself.
